I'm melting, I'm melting....
It's damned hot here, and not a breath of air, which is why I'm currently sitting inside a smoke-filled bar and not on the patio. We're celebrating my birthday (a day early) with beer. I'm currently drinking a Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout, and recommend it to everyone.
The heat isn't just hard on me. We took one of the kitties in for his yearly checkup; while we were in the waiting room, a young man rushed in with an emergency. His greyhound was unable to stand. The doctor diagnosed heatstroke, but at that point it was too late, and the dog died very shortly thereafter. So if you have pets and are in a part of the world with a heat wave, keep in mind that by the time your pet is showing symptoms, its probably an extreme emergency. Best to make sure they can stay cool to begin with.
